Frank Feldmann studied Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Technical University of Aachen (RWTH) in Germany from 2005 to 2010. During his studies he was awarded the Henry Ford II prize. In 2011 he joined the Fraunhofer institute for solar energy (ISE) and developed the TOPCon technology which enables efficiencies beyond 25%. In 2015 he received the PhD degree from the Albert-Ludwig-University of Freiburg for the dissertation “Carrier-selective contacts for high-efficiency Si solar cells”. In 2016 he was awarded the Junior Einstein Award sponsored by SolarWorld AG. Frank Feldmann is currently employed as “product manager passivating contacts” at Fraunhofer ISE.
